Elva Perez Cancino, 63, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, in Dalhart, Texas.Prayer Service were held at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Prmera Iglesia Bautista - Dalhart, TX.Graveside services were held at 11am on Saturday, October 17, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TexasOfficiating was Domingo Duenez, Minister - Primera Iglesia Bautista , Dalhart, Texas.Elva Perez was born on June 8, 1946 in Las Cruses Namiquipa, Mexico to Elias Perez and Belen Munoz Perez. Elva was one of five siblings. At the age of sixteen she met and married Roberto Ortiz. They had three children, Maria, Victoriano and Roberto, Jr. In 1973 they migrated to the United States and settled in Colorado and had four more children, Samuel, Ricardo, Laura and Lisa. Roberto passed away in 1994. Elva moved to Burlington, Colorado and was granted custody of two grandchildren, Dominique and Demetry Sandoval. In 2004 Elva moved to Dalhart where she lived for the rest of her life. She dedicated all of her time to her family and was involved with most, if not all church functions or activities. Elva was a faithful member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church for nine years. She will always be remembered to everyone who knew her as a loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend.Survivors include her daughters: Maria Sosa of Stratford, TX Laura Ortiz of Dalhart, TX - Lisa Duran of Guymon, OK Dominique Sandoval of Dalhart, TX - Sons: Victoriano Ortiz of Acuna, Mexico Juan Roberto Sosa of Dalhart, TX - Samuel Ortiz of Burlington, CO - Ricardo Ortiz of Dalhart, TX 11 Grandchildren Patrick Solano, Noelia Solano, Veroica Duran, Karime Duran, Aracely Duran, Anatali Aguilar, Natalia Aguilar, Mya Raven, Emilio Ortiz, Isaih Ortiz and Viviana Ortiz.
