Eloy Arguello, 78, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. Viewing will be held at Horizon Funeral Home, 701 Elm Ave, Dalhart, Texas from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, June 11. Rosary service will be held at 9:45 am on Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Private family service and Internment will be held at a later date. For the safety of our community, Eloys family, and funeral home staff we will follow the COVID19 CDC guidelines: "Social Distancing" Viewing is restricted to no more than four people at any one time. If you are running a fever or are not feeling well. please remain at home. Everyone is required to wear a mask upon entering the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for services. Due to state mandates seating is limited and the family will be seated first if occupancy allows others may join the service. Eloy Carlos Arguello was born December 13, 1941 in Roy, NM to Cornelio and Odelia (Abeyta) Arguello. When Eloy retired from the City of Dalhart Parks and Cemetery Department he was supervisor and had worked for over 30years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, helping others when he could. Eloy will be remembered by many as the man who took care of their yards and greenhouses. Eloy made friends everywhere he went. Eloy is survived by 2 daughters: Elizabeth Arguello of Perryton, TX, and Eloise Arguello of Guymon, OK, and 2 sons: Charles Arguello of Dalhart, TX and Frank Arguello and his wife Virginia of Dalhart, TX. 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
