Eldon Thomas, 75, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas. Services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church in Dalhart, TX. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX. Officiating was Rev. Janet Edwards, Pastor, Abernathy First United Methodist Church, Abernathy, TX.Eldon Eugene Thomas was born June 2, 1939 in Traer, Kansas to A.G. Tommy Thomas and Esther M. (Humes) Thomas. Eldon moved to Dalhart with his family in 1947. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1957. Eldon served in the US Army and in 1962 he started Service Cleaners in Dalhart. On July 26, 1975 he married Evelyn Brock. Eldon was lifetime member of the Dalhart Lions Club, was a director of the XIT Rangers, a member of Central United Methodist Church where he was in the Open Door Sunday School Class. Eldon delivered meals for the Meals on Wheels board. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with the Guys. Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Dalhart, TX 1 son: Larry Coulter and significant other Angie Cummings of Enid, OK, 2 daughters- Janet and her husband Steve Westbrook of Claude, TX and Anita and her husband Doug Przilas of Dalhart, TX 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
