Eldon Curtis Smith, age 81, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 in Dalhart, TexasFuneral services were at 10:30 am CDT Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Texline Mennonite Church. Eldon Curtis Smith was born March 16, 1924 in Halstead, KS to Henry A. & Elizabeth (Unruh) Smith. Raised in Halstead, he moved to Burns, KS and on January 17, 1943 he married Pearl Yost. Eldon was a member of the Texline Mennonite Church, where he was an elder deacon. He was a farmer by trade, and had lived in Burns, KS and West Point, MS, before moving to the Texline area in 1989. Survivors include his wife: Pearl Smith of Texline, Texas a daughter: Cheleen & her husband Gary Becker of Burns, KS Sons: Elwood and his wife Kathy Smith of Dalhart, TX and Joe and his wife Berneil Smith of West Point, MS 3 Sisters: Mildred Dirks of Moundridge, KS, Malena Dirks of Moundridge, KS & Luvina Koehn of Burns, KS. 12 Grandchildren & 3 Great-Grandchildren.
