Edna Stowe Gilliland Heiskell, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Dalhart, TexasFuneral Services were held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 22, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Bob McAlister, minister to Sr. Adults. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX.Edna was born April 7, 1924 in Clapham, NM to Horace C and Mary B. (Scarbrough) Gilliland. Edna grew up in Clapham before moving to Clayton, NM to complete High School. She married Chester Floyd Heiskell on December 16, 1945 in Clayton, NM. They traveled all over the Southwest building concrete grain storage systems before moving to Dalhart in the late 50s. Edna was an active member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed her family and friends. She was also a member of the 55 plus club and an active member of the Dalhart Senior Citizens Center. Edna enjoyed playing dominoes with the 42 club.Survivors include her son Alan and his wife April Heiskell of York, South Carolina, daughter Gwen and her husband Don Bowers of Dalhart, Texas, Grandchildren: Chip and his wife Audri Bowers of Fredericksburg, Texas, Jarret and his wife Jennifer Bowers of Dalhart, Texas, Nicole Bowers of Dalhart, Texas, Melody and her husband Todd Unikel of Reston, Virginia, Ben Heiskell of Norwalk, Connecticut, Jeff Heiskell of Atlanta, Georgia, Clay Heiskell of Houston, Texas and 7 great grandchildren.
