Edd Trublood, 97, died on Thursday, February 07, 2008 in Dalhart, TXGraveside Service were held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Stratford Cemetery, Stratford, Texas with George Chambers, pastor Lakeview United Methodist Church. Mr. Trublood was born February 22, 1910, the youngest of five children to John F. and Byancy (Schultz) Trublood in Everton, Arkansas where he grew up on the familys 40 acre farm. He said their nearest neighbor was the Johnny Cash family. Edd left Arkansas in the 1930s and came to Stratford, Texas and worked putting in the first sewer lines for the city.Edd married his first wife in October 1941 in Texhoma, Oklahoma. They had two daughters, LaNell and Vicky. Edd served three years in the Army from 1941 to 1944 on the island of Bora Bora. After he was discharged from the Army he and his family moved to Conlen, Texas and then later to Dalhart, Texas where he worked for Floyd Holt Richards, Ideal Grocery and then Mormans Grocery for a number of years. Edd and his first wife divorced in 1966.Edd married Grace Clark Savage in 1966 to whom he had been happily married for 42 years. Edd and Grace farmed until they retired in the 1980sHe is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters a grandson and his first wife.Survivors in include his wife Grace, two daughters, LaNell Turpin and her husband Billy of Amarillo, Texas - Vicky Parrott and her husband Fred of Gainesville, Florida - three grandchildren - Billy Ray Turpin, II of Amarillo, Texas - Robyn Kiddie and her husband Bobby, of Austin, Texas and Shanna Parrott of Jacksonville, Florida and one great grandson, Dean Kiddie of Austin, TexasMemorials may be made to: Coon Memorial Hospice 320 Texas Blvd. Dalhart, TX 79022
