Dwight Dowell, Sr., 60, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in Amarillo, TexasFuneral Services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the First Christian Church, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Officiating was Barry Walker, Minister of the First Christian Church, Dalhart, Texas Dwight Wayne Dowell, Sr. was born November 7, 1946 in Lancaster, Ohio to Russell and Georgia (Barron) Dowell. He was raised in US Army Bases in the United States and abroad. He Joined the US Army in 1963 and served in Korea and Vietnam before retiring in 1973. Dwight loved his family and enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids how to play all kinds of sports. Survivors include his Wife: Dorothy Dowell of Dalhart, TX, Daughter: Sheila Thompson of Vicksburg, MS, Sons: Dwight Dowell, Jr, Troy, TX, Scott Dowell, Dallas, TX, Brothers: Dudley, David, Dale, Jack and Joe Dowell all of Killeen, TX, and 2 sisters: Pat Powell and Donna Graves of Killeen, TX. Nine Grandchildren: Jamie Lee and Jeffrey Thompson Damon, Jordan, Cheyenne, Tylar, Payton, Madison and Samantha Dowell and One Great-GrandchildBrayden James Hillard
