He graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1946. He married Avonelle Kenyon on August 14, 1955 in Albert Lea, MN. They Farmed in Minnesota before moving to Dalhart, Texas in 1979. Duane farmed in the Dalhart area, and after he retired - He worked in Maintenance at Coon Memorial Nursing Home for 10 years. He also worked for Medi-Equip.
