Burton Doyle Hanbury, 80, died Sunday, December 11, 2012 in Dalhart, Texas.Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Central United Methodist Church.Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas.Doyle was born on February 17th 1931 in Dalhart, Texas, the son of Burton and Dessie Mae Hanbury.He attended school in Dalhart, Price College in Amarillo, Wentworth Military Academy, the University of Austin and the University of Houston.He married Nancy Hallmark on August 27, 1950 and loved her for sixty-one years.He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea.Doyle practiced law with Floyd Richards, was an officer at Dalhart Federal and Citizens State Bank where he retired.In private life, he was a pilot, and an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He was a long time member of the Central United Methodist Church.He served on the XIT Board of Directors, the XIT Museum Board, was elected as citizen of the year by the Dalhart Chamber, was a CASA volunteer and one of the founding members of the Ice Fishermen.Survivors include his wife Nancy of the home, 2 sons - Ronnie Hanbury and his wife Misti of Dalhart, TX, and Mark Hanbury and his wife Lisa of Canadian, TX - 3 Daughters Becky and her husband Darrell Younger of Huntington Beach, CA, Carrie and her husband Kenny Weldon of Stevenville, TX and Carren and her husband Michael Raney of Dalhart, TX9 Grandchildren - Larrissa Hanbury, Cara Raney, Austin Hanbury, Seth Hanbury, Micah Hanbury, Adam Raney, Kyle Weldon, Kayla Weldon, Dustin HanburyAnd 1 Great grandchild Bregan RaneyMemorials Dalhart Senior Citizens Assoc. 610 Denrock Ave. Dalhart, TX 79022
