Dorothy Jean Arnold, 70, died Monday, February 5, 2018 in Dalhart, TX Services were held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Texline, Texas with burial in the Texline Memorial Cemetery in Texline, TX, under the care of Horizon Funeral Home. Dorothy Jean Prewitt was born January 7, 1948 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Troy and Thelma (Skelton) Prewitt. Dorothy was raised in McCrory, AR until she and her family moved to Mesquite, TX where she graduated high school in 1966. She married Richard A. Arnold on November 4, 1966 in Dallas, TX. They moved from Mesquite to Celina, TX in 1979 and in 1994 they moved to Texline. Dorothy was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she worked with youth groups, and enjoyed Wednesday night bible study. Dorothy was a book-keeper for Poole Chemical. Her hobbies included bowling, painting, scrabble, and taking art classes. Her favorite times were when she was with family, especially her grand-kids! Dorothy had the heart of a servant and was always more concerned about others before herself. Survivors include her husband Richard Arnold of Texline, TX, her sons: Michael and his wife Leslie of Dalhart, TX, Richard Malcolm Arnold of Texline, TX and Toby Arnold and his wife Jennifer of Seymour, TX 6 grandsons Cody, Brandon, Sam, Nathan, Thomas, and Eli and 4 granddaughters Morgan, Hayley, Cortney and Addilyn as well 2 brothers Gerald Prewitt of Italy, TX and Billy Wayne Prewitt of Mesquite, TX, and a sister Lanell Chapell of Flint, MI.
