Doreen Stanley Zumwalt, 91, died on Thursday, December8, 2016 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside services were held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart. Funeral service were held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Lakeview United Methodist Church. Officiating Rev. Jon Farris, Pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church and Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church., Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Doreen was born February 2, 1925 in Saskatchewan, Canada to Ralph A. & Lela Mae (Snyder) Stanley. Doreen moved to California when she was 2 with her parents, who later moved to the Dumas area to farm. She was a graduate of Dumas High School. She married J. L Graham in 1947 and two sons, Gary and John were born to this union. J. L. passed away in Kerrville, TX in 1973. She married Ruben Zumwalt May 20, 1979. Doreen was a homemaker and loved helping her husband in his business endeavors. Always had a cup of coffee for friends and a loving spirit to help anyone in need. Doreen was a member of Lakeview United Methodist ChurchDoreen is survived by her daughter- Sharon Zumwalt Trick of Seattle, WA, a son- Tom Zumwalt of Massachusetts, a granddaughter Sister Elizabeth Marie Graham of San Antonio, TX, a nephew- Jim B. Brown and 4 nieces- Joan Cumming, Janelle Michael, DLisa Turner and Denise Webb.Doreen is preceded in death by 2 husbands, J. L. Graham and Ruben Zumwalt, her 2 sons Gary Graham and John Graham, her parents, a brother- Kenneth Stanley and 2 sisters- Cecile Chennault and Gladys Bearden.
