Dora Griego, a testament to faith and love, departed from this earth on November 4, 2023. Born on August 24, 1942, in Oxnard, California, to the blessed union of Joaquin and Rosa (Ramirez) Mireles, Dora lived a life full of love and sacrifice. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Prior to Mass, a Rosary will be recited beginning at 9:30am at the church. Raised as a humble daughter of devout parents, Dora spent her childhood in Mexico. Later, the family relocated to Dalhart, Texas, where she blossomed in wisdom and stature. The bond of matrimony united her with John Griego, the love of her life, on June 18, 1960. Standing side by side, they weathered life's storms and basked in its sunshine, embracing the sweetness of love and the challenges of commitment. The couple found joy in ordinary places - standing in an elevator as she worked or in a shop as John cut hair.

Their love story was enriched with the addition of two beautiful souls, Louis Anthony and Deana Rae, whom they adopted. In the eyes of her children, Dora was the definition of all things good - a rare gem of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, humility, and patience. She found delight in celebrating life's simple moments, often cheering at her children's sporting events, making the bleachers her throne.

Dora's touch of love and joy was parallel to a sparkling river, overflowing and touching the hearts of all she met. Her culinary skills were nothing short of miraculous – a testament to her love of extending hospitality to all, welcoming everyone into the fold of her home. Indeed, Dora was an echo of Jesus's love on earth.

Her laughter and her radiant smile warmed the hearts of all around her, illuminating even the darkest corners of life. Oh, the sight of John and Dora dancing in their kitchen to the rhythm of life was a spectacle of love and joy! She lovingly extended her maternal care to her numerous nephews and nieces as if they were her own. Devoted to her faith, she was a proud member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Legion of Mary.

Her journey in this world may have ended after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Dementia, but her spirit lives on. Through it all, John remained her pillar of support, his love for Dora lighting the way for many in Dalhart.
