Donnell Dean Unruh, was born to Donald and Jewell Unruh on May 25, 1982, in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away unexpectedly as a result of injuries due to a truck accident on August 6, 2020, at the age of 38. In the immediate minutes following the accident, he said these words, Oh, Lord, take me home. Donnys childhood years were spent in Scott County, Kansas. He attended grade school at Sunny Plains School. At the age of 12, Donny answered Gods call, repented of his sins, and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. In his early 20s he moved to Grifton, North Carolina to work for six years. While living there, many lasting friendships were made. On May 16, 2010, he married Laci Koehn, they were blessed to spend 10 years together. The first seven years they lived in Leoti, Kansas, then they moved to Pryor, Oklahoma for three years where Donny put his heart into his livestock. Two months ago, they moved to Hartley, Texas to start a hay hauling business. Donny was completely happy here in the panhandle. Donny was a family man at heart. When Laci took lunch to Donny, he inevitably would open both back car doors to talk to each child. The boys eagerly went to meet him as he parked his truck at the end of the days work. Once inside he was greeted with much happiness by Sweet T as he called their little girl. Donny always had time to sit and talk to people he met along the way or stopped by. Friends were important in his life. He was known for his advice which wasnt always received as freely as he gave it. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Laci.
