Don Vinson, 81, died Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Dalhart, TX. Graveside Service were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX. Donald Kay Vinson was born Saturday, March 19, 1938 in Everton, Arkansas. Don was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1956 and then joined the US Navy. On Jan 19, 1962 he married Eileen Shaw in Seattle, Washington, then moved to Dalhart in 1963. Mr. Vinson was a radar man in the US Navy and really enjoyed second guessing the weathermen he was often correct in his weather predictions and was lovingly called Doppler Don by his friends. Don enjoyed fishing and arrowhead hunting. Don is survived by his wife, Eileen of Dalhart, TX, two sons: Joseph and Jerry Vinson of Amarillo, TX and daughter Jeanette E. Beighle of Montgomery, TX. Two brothers: Lowell Vinson of Dalhart, TX, and Larry Vinson of Dumas, TX, One sister: Deanna Davis of Everton, AR. As well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jamie and 3 brothers.
