Donald Lynn Paulk, 60 of Dalhart, passed away on November 8, 2023. The family will host friends for a Gathering of Remembrance at 2:00pm on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the XIT Rangers building. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.

Donald was born on May 12, 1963 to Ray and Lucille Paulk in Dalhart, TX. He graduated from Dalhart High School and went on to study mechanics. Donald was known for his generosity. He possessed a giving heart and was always willing to help others by providing them with whatever he believed they needed, even if it meant giving them the shirt off his back. Despite facing numerous challenges and living a difficult life, Donald always chose to embrace happiness and living life without regrets. He had a passion for collecting various items and firmly believed that "someone's trash is another's treasure." He enjoyed going out into the countryside, searching for arrowheads, and appreciating the view. Donald, to everyone who knew him, was simply "Just Donald," a person who loved life and valued the joy it brought. And to his nieces and nephews, Donald was the favorite uncle. He had many friends and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Lucile Paulk, 5 brothers: John Robert, Malcolm, David, Charlie and Mike, and one sister: Maggie.

Donald, survived by his siblings, Mary K. Shelton and husband Jimmy of Amarillo, James Paulk and wife Donna of Amarillo, and Johnny Paulk of Dalhart, one sister-in-law: Karan of Kimberly, Idaho. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
