Don Stout, 83, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Amarillo, TexasA Life Celebration was held at 11:00 am Friday, May 23, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church. Officiating was Steve Patterson, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church. - Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.Donald Dean Stout was born August 3, 1930 in Dalhart, TX to Helen ( Hoffsommer) Stout and W.L. Dick Stout. Don grew up in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1947. He attended Oklahoma State University. On September 5, 1953 Don married Edna Lois Meeks. He farmed and was a partner in the local Case Implement Company. Don served in the National Guard, was a charter member of the Dalhart Lions club, had served on the Meals on Wheels Board, and was a lifelong member of the Central United Methodist Church, where he had held numerous offices and served as a greeter on Sunday mornings for over 50yrs. Don enjoyed playing golf, doing metal work and had a special knack for collecting and trading pocket knives. Survivors include his wife Edna of Dalhart, TX, a son - Brad and wife Sydna Stout of Amarillo, TX, daughter - Jeni and husband Gary Sanders of Lubbock, TX and grandchildren - Kelli and Christian Simdon of Frisco, TX, Kallan and Michael Ann Sanders of Frisco, TX and Dylan Stout of Amarillo, TX and Great Grandchildren: Jenner Simdon and Henry Sanders.
