Dennis Preston, 63, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas Funeral Services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Channing Public School Auditorium in Channing, Texas. Burial was in the Channing Cemetery. - Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home. Dennis Moore Preston was born August 18, 1955 in Abilene, Texas to Kenneth Moore and Norma Jean (Owens) Preston. Dennis grew up in Tuscola, Texas and graduated from Abilene Cooper High in Abilene, Texas, then attended TSTI in Amarillo, earning a degree in Livestock & Ranch Operations. Dennis married Linda Shepherd on July 28, 1978. He worked on ranches and in feedlots throughout his career, the last 13 years with JBS 5 Rivers, his last position was Animal Health Supervisor. Dennis enjoyed cowboying and good horses like; Smokey, Ike and John. Dennis is survived by his wife of 40 years - Linda Preston of Channing, Texas, a brother Billy Paul Preston and his wife Cindy of Tulia, Texas and sister in law Cindi Cates and her husband Don of Channing, Texas. Three nieces: Layce Heaton and husband Jerry, Paige Riedel and husband Brian and Bailey White and husband Steven. One Nephew Kelly Cates and wife Twyla and 5 great nieces and nephews.
