Dennis Lee Nicholson, 79, passed away on Saturday, Thursday, September 24, 2020 in Dalhart, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart, TX with Josh Stueve officiating. Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home. Dennis Lee Nicholson was born Monday, March 17, 1941 in Webster City, Iowa to Jack and Jessie (Berleen) Nicholson. Raised in Iowa, he married Sandy Shipman on September 7, 1962 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Sandy died July 25th of this year. Dennis and his family moved to Dalhart, TX in 1977 to become partners in a business with Bill Martin. Then he became a mechanic and parts salesman at Gustin Equipment until he retired. He also worked for John Colquitt, where he totally enjoyed hauling the Indian Motorcycles and cooking at Sturgis. 3D small engine clinic was another of his hobbies he loved. As long as his hands allowed he continued to work on small engines, and loved doing stained glass, making wooden pens, building airplanes, cooking, coloring all his famous pictures for people, and holding his grandkids. Dennis never met a stranger and was always there to help anyone. His last three years of life were spent in bed but he made the best of it and was always doing and inventing things and ways to modify things. Always something new and interesting. Dennis is survived by two daughters; Brenda Osborne and husband Berlin of Dalhart, TX, and Dee Dee Sifuentes of Friona, TX, two sons; Dennis Nicholson and wife Bridgett of Dalhart, TX and Danny Nicholson and wife Deniece of Dalhart, TX, 11 grandchildren; Tiffiny Osborne of Stratford, TX, Stephen Osborne of Amarillo, TX, Tasha Stanberry and husband Michael of Friona, TX, Conrad Sifuentes of Brownfield, TX, Connor Nicholson of Dalhart, TX, Haliey Nicholson of Dalhart, TX, Dawson Nicholson, Dathan Nicholson, Daelynne Nicholson, Dabria Nicholson and Dristol Nicholson all of Dalhart, TX, and 8 great grandchildren; Keegan Osborne, Gunner Osborne, Kylee Jo Sifuentes, Bryer Stanberry, Kaysen Stanberry, Adysen Gardner, Kayzlee Sifuentes, and Brentlee Osborne. Dennis is preceded in death by his wife Sandy, his parents, Jack and Jesse Nicholson, his in-laws, Blanche & Earl Shipman and one grandchild, Tayelor Ann Nicholson.
