Ruby Dell Steel, 88, died Satruday, March 15, 2008 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 17, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Dalhart, TX, under the direction of Horizon Funeral HomeOfficiating will be Rusty Hancock, Pastor, Lincoln St. Baptist Church, Dalhart, TXRubydell Dell Steel was born Tuesday, April 29, 1919 in Stratford, Texas to Charles McClure Steel and Bertie Whaley Steel. Raised in Dalhart, Dell graduated from Dalhart High School in 1936. Dell was a legal secretary and had worked in Midland, TX LaJolla, CA- Washington, DC and Paris France. After she retired she returned to Dalhart and served as the Dallam Hartley County Librarian, did volunteer work for the XIT Museum, as well as wrote a column for the Dalhart Texan. Dell was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. Survivors include her brother Charles and his wife Netha Steel of Dalhart, TX Niece Jane Ann and her husband Danny McFadin of Knippa, TX their children Katy Flood of Houston, TX Emily Kelly of Midland, TX and Winston Kelly of Norman, OK. Nephews David Steel of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Richard and his wife Pam Steel of Big Springs, TX and their children Connor and Jennie. Plus a Host of Friends.
