Delbert William Anson, 86, died Monday, March 21, 2011 in Dalhart, TXPrayer Vigil was held at 8:00 pm Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas Funeral Mass- 10:00 am - Saturday, March 26, 2011 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas with Father Scott L. Raef, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon FuneralHome, Dalhart, Texas. Delbert W. Anson was born October 30, 1924 on his Grandpa and Grandma Watsons farm near Orchard, NE. to Glen and Frances (Watson) Anson. He was the second of 9 children. He left school in the 10th grade to help on the family farm. His family lived on several farms in Antelope County, NE., including the Osmond area and Royal area. They also lived in White River, SD.He married Phyllis ( Sukup ) in Yankton, S.D. on July 27, 1946. He worked as a mechanic, and for the Holt Co. Road Maintenance. In 1968 they moved to Omaha, NE. where he was employed by the Olin Chemical Corporation. They then retired to Johnson Lake near Lexington, NE. They sold all of their property, bought a motor home, and traveled the United States. They bought a home in Dalhart and have resided in Dalhart for 11 years.Survivors include his wife Phyllis, of Dalhart, TX. Daughters; Janet and her husband Roger Banks, of Dalhart, Connie and her husband Fred Thelander of Clayton, N.M. and son Gerald Anson of Broken Bow, NE.; 7 grandchildren,23 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers Neville Anson of Omaha, NE, Arvin Anson of Neligh, NE 2 sisters Alice Bowen of Grand Island, NE, and Rose Taylor of Sioux City, IA 3 brothers in law, 4 sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Anthonys Sow and Grow fund.The family is at 12030 FM 3139 (airport road)
