Debra Carol (Whiteaker) Horn, 69, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. A graveside followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Michael Wilcox officiated. Arrangements under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.
Debra was born to Margaret (Beck) and Robert Whiteaker on Tuesday, May 15, 1951. Debra graduated from Dalhart High School and went on to receive her teaching degree from Texas Tech University. She returned to Dalhart to become a fourth-grade teacher, she was married to William Latham from 1974 until his passing in 1979 she later married Travis Horn. She taught for many years until she retired due to medical reasons. Debra relocated to Amarillo, Texas for the remainder of her years. She loved to travel and shop and was always ready for an adventure. She was friendly and fun and loved to make others smile. She was blessed to have her dear friend Kay of many years become her caregiver for the past few years.
Debra is survived by her husband, Travis Horn of Quanah, TX, a sister; Martha Whiteaker of Flower Mound, TX, a brother; Patrick Whiteaker of Lubbock, TX, her nieces; Monica Stuchlik of Parker, CO, Hillary Whiteaker of Lubbock, TX and Larisa Alba of Dalhart, TX, her nephews; Travis Parker of Flower Mound, TX, Brandon Parker of Abilene, TX and Brian Whiteaker of Chillicothe, OH and a very large extended family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Margaret Whiteaker and one brother, Mike Whiteaker.
