Deborah Brown, 67 of Dalhart, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2023. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00am on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Dalhart Church of Christ with Minister Larry Dye of Church of Christ in Chanute, KS, officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the staff at Horizon Funeral Home.
Born on November 2, 1956, in Lenoir City, Tennessee, Deborah lived a life rich in love and service, always putting others before herself. A graduate of Hartley High School in 1974, she exhibited early on the industrious and caring spirit that would define her life. Deborah's dedication to her community was paralleled by her commitment to her career at Hartley Feeders, from which she retired after many years of faithful service. Her work ethic and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Deborah was the loving matriarch of a large and vibrant family that was her proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her devoted mother, Wilma Jean Hulin; her brother, Arthur Hulin Jr. and wife Micki, and sisters, Gail Hodges and Pam Sanders. Deborah will be fondly remembered by her in laws: Carolyn and husband Larry, Shirley, Wayne and wife Janet, Virginia and husband Gene, Mike and wife Dwayna, and Pat and wife Julianne, and too many nieces and nephews to count! She is also survived by her children: Jennifer; Jason and his wife, Laura; Jerilyn and her husband, Bryan; Justin and his wife, Laura; Jonathan and his wife, Peggy; Jaklyn and her husband, Michael; Jarod; Jaida; Jordan; and Jorja and husband L.J. She was the pillar for her twenty grandchildren: Christian, Devlin, Aubrey, Kaden, Kadance, Kaylee, Gabriel, Makayla, Logan, Truett, Preston, Elijah, McKenna, Austyn, Colton, Azazel, Sydney, Zaidyn and Brooke; and her three great-grandchildren: Braden, Brandon, and Peyton.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy Brown; father, Arthur Hulin, sister Teresa Hulin; daughter, Jocelyn Brown and grandson, Kyle Brockman.
Deborah's interests were a reflection of her love for her family and her zest for life; she found joy in books, music, and precious playtime with her grandchildren. People were drawn to her for her loving, kind, and selfless nature…often delivered with a little sass and touch of sarcasm!
