David Hanna, 83, died May 8, 2014 in Lewisville, TX Funeral services were held at 2:00pm on Thursday May 15, 2014 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Officiating was Rusty Hancock pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Burial followed service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements held by Horizon Funeral Home. David George Hanna was born May 23, 1930 in Nara Visa, NM to George and Daisy (Cooper) Hanna. David was raised in a big family with six brothers and four sisters. David married Frances Moomaw on April 2, 1952. He drove for North American Van Lines for 20 years, was a partner in Double D Fertilizer, and farmed and ranched at Lotta Water Farms. David and Frances opened Hannas Furniture and Appliance and ran the business until they retired in Lewisville, TX. David was very involved with his family once he retired. He loved picking Madison up after school and going to Jamba Juice. He was a great chauffer until she got her drivers license. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He would show everyone who walked in the door the new video or pictures of Jamie riding horses. David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances, five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his son- David Bobby Hanna and his wife Kyle of Cary, IL. Daughter- Terri Cartwright and her husband Brian of Highland Village, TX. Granddaughters- Madison Cartwright of Highland Village, TX, and Jamie Hanna of Cary, IL. Brother- Ernest Hanna of Dumas, TX. We would like to thank all of his home helpers that enabled him to remain at home for the last couple of years.
