David Dobson, 53, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Dalhart, Texas. Funeral Services were held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Dalhart, TX Funeral arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.David Roy Dobson was born May 14, 1961 in Alamogordo, NM to Tommy and Marilyn (Graves) Dobson. David grew up in Alamogordo and graduated from Alamogordo High school in 1979. After receiving his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from NMSU he joined the US Marines. He later received his MBA from NMSU. Davids entire career was spent in the criminal Justice system, law enforcement, and teaching.David married Vickie Gillespie on December 28, 2000 in El Paso, TX. They moved to Dalhart in 2011 where David taught school before going to work for the TDCJ Dalhart Unit. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.David is survived by his wife Vickie Dobson of Dalhart, TX , his sisters Cyndy and her husband Charles McBride of Casper, WY, and Debbie and her husband Paul Cook of Las Cruces, NM, his parents Tommy and Marilyn Dobson of Alamogordo, NM and Mother in law Mary Ann Gillespie and sister in law Jana Gates as well as a nephew Joshua Cook and Niece Cathy Cook.Memorials may be made to the Correctional Peace Officers FoundationCPOFMailing address:CPO FoundationP.O.
