Daniel Moreno, 56 of Dalhart, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Kurtis Abla officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Moreno will lay in state from 11-7:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Danny Moreno was born on July 24, 1965, to Luz and Filomena Moreno in Hereford TX. His family relocated to Dalhart when he was young where he spent the remainder of his life. Danny attended Dalhart School District. He was most popular in school for being a bodyguard for students in trade for burritos. Danny met Dolores Moreno in September 1984, they married and later had 2 children. They were together for 37 1/2 years. He and his wife were faithful members of Lincoln Street Baptist Church for 21 years. He was a believer in Jesus Christ. Danny was a very hard worker with many trades. He loved welding and making things like BBQ grills. He was the VIP fan for the Dallas Cowboys since he was born. Everything Danny wore and talked about was Dallas Cowboys. He was known for his love and passion for the Cowboys and his family. He had an unconditional love for his wife, kids and grandkids. He gave the biggest, best hugs, especially to his grandkids and would push on their button noses. He loved to honk at his grandkids and scare them as they walked in front of his car, he got the biggest laugh out of doing that and seeing them scream. His grandkids were his world. He never missed and event or sport they had. He was their number one fan. He had a special place in his heart for everyone in his life. Danny didn't know one stranger. His big smile, big heart, contagious laugh and joking personality will never be forgotten. Danny is proceeded in death by: Father Luz Moreno, Mother Filomena Moreno; sisters: Mary Deleon, Angie Perez, Rosa Garcia and Yolanda Rios; Brothers: Arthur Moreno, Louis Moreno, Severo Moreno and Pablo Moreno; along with many nieces and nephews. Danny is survived by his wife Dolores Moreno of Dalhart; Children: Monica Moreno and fianc Cody Red of Dumas TX, Daniel and Miranda Moreno of Fort Worth TX; Sister: Josie Perez; Brothers; Antonio Moreno, Joe Moreno and Juan Moreno; Six grandchildren: Frencho, Felicity, Elizabeth, Azariah, Emmalynn and Maddisyn; Multiple nieces and nephews.
