William Dale Childers died Friday, March 9, 2012 in Dalhart, TXA Memorial to celebrate his life was held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Central United Methodist Church.Dale Childers was born November 24, 1937 in Amarillo, TX to A F and Geraldine Simmons Childers. Dale grew up in Dumas and Dalhart. Dale served in the Texas National Guard and the US Army. On July 30, 1960 he married Linda Parker, they lived in Barstow, CA and La Junta, CO before returning to Dalhart in 1964. Dale farmed on the family farm south of Dalhart for many years. Survivors include his wife Linda of Dalhart, a son Mark of Dalhart, his mother Geraldine Childers of Amarillo, TX. His precious grandchildren Katie and her husband T J Sparks of Odessa, TX, Jace Childers and Karlee Childers of Dalhart, TX and a great-granddaughter DeLanie Sparks, - brothers Gerald Childers and Brent and his wife Leslie Childers all of Amarillo, TX - 2 sisters Faye and her husband Kent Cartrite of Sunray, TX and Jo Palmer of Salt Lake City, Utah.Preceded in death by his father, a brother, Larry and a daughter Lisa.Memorials may be made to your Church or a favorite charity Sign the Online register book at www.horizonfuneral.com
