Daisy L. Moore Gabler, 97 of Dalhart passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. A private burial will be held in the family cemetery. A public Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Daisy L. Moore Gabler was born In Jericho, TX on January 25, 1924 to Richard "Dick" and Bessie Schaffer. Her father raised horses and worked as a farrier. She went to Pampa High School and eventually named Miss Pampa. Daisy then served as the executer secretary for the commander of the Pampa Army Airfield. She met and married an army private, Leo H. Moore, before he was shipped to England to serve as an x-ray tech during the Battle of the Bulge. Over a year late, he returned and they made their home on land north of Dalhart. It eventually was known as SM Farm and Ranch. She raised 2 boys: William and Ed and one daughter: Beverly. She loved her time at 2 churches: First Baptist and then Lincoln Street Baptist. She was preceded in death by both Leo H. (first husband) and EJ Gabler (second husband) as well as one of her sons: Edward R. Moore. A great reunion is going on in heaven as expected.
