Cora E Proffitt, 94, died Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Dumas, Texas. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church of Dalhart with Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church officiating. - arrangements - Horizon Funeral Home. Cora Ellen Allison was born November 5, 1924 in Ballinger, Texas to Clyde and Cora (Ingle) Allison. She was raised in Ballinger and graduated from Ballinger High School. On January 17, 1948 Cora married Dumont Proffitt, he died in 1989. A loving mother and grandmother, Cora was a member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons: Kirk Proffitt and his wife Lisa of Dumas, TX, Tim Proffitt and his wife Keile of Texline, TX, and a daughter in law Mary Pat Proffitt of Amarillo, TX as well as 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Dumont, and 2 sons: Barry Lee and Monty Proffitt.
