Connie Alver, 98, died on Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Amarillo, TexasGraveside services were held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 15th, 2006 in Memorial Park Cemtery.Sean Robinson, Sr. Pastor at the Amarillo Seventh-day Adventist Church officiated.Connie is Survived by - her Grandsons: Sheldon Alver of Soda Springs, Idaho Brian Alver of Dalhart, Texas and Justin Alver of Farmington, Minnesota Verlyn Mayer of Salem, Oregon & Stephen Mayer of Moorpark, California Granddaughters: Estelle Cooper of Loma Linda, California & Verdell Shaefer of Calimesa, California. 8 Great-grandchildren & 2 Great Great-grandchildrenPreceded in death by her husband: Ingvald Alver and her daughter: Esther Mayer her son: Ivan Alver and a grandson: Kevin Alver.Bergitta Constance Iversen Alver was born May 7th, 1908 in Bergen, Norway. Connie and her husband, Ingvald, immigrated to America by ship in the early 1930s. They stopped in New York City and Illinois before moving to Minnesota where they farmed for many years. In 1977 they moved from Claremont, Minnesota to Dalhart with their son Ivan and his family.Connie and Ingvald were very proud of their Norwegian heritage and took several trips back to their homeland.
