Cynthia (Cindy) Peters, 68, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 in Colorado. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at First Christian Church in Dalhart, Texas with Barry Walker officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Cindy (Halsted) Peters was born Sunday, February 8, 1953 to Alfred and Marie Halsted in Chadron, Nebraska. After she graduated high school, she married her high school sweetheart Norman Peters in 1971. They were blessed enough to spend 49 years together. Cindy was a nurse at Coon Memorial Hospital for 23 years before retiring due to a latex allergy. Cindy loved her family dearly especially her grandbabies. Cindy is survived by her husband Norman Peters of Dalhart, TX, her three sons: Jeffrey and wife Tonja of Kokomo, IN, Lee David (LD) of Fort Dodge, IA and Anthony (Shorty) and Anessa Peters of Sapulpa, OK, bonus son; Jimmy Moody and wife Taunya of Amarillo, TX, three granddaughters: Mandie, Maliya and Jonnie Sue, five grandsons: Corbin, Cory, Caydon, Chris and Brandon, two great grandchildren: Madilyn and Sophia, three sisters: Carol Barber, Marley Dehaven and LoriAnn Johnson, one brother Gary Halsted and many nieces and nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her son, Clayton Oscar Peters, her parents, Alfred and Marie Halsted, one brother, Delmar Halsted and two sisters: Lorna Grant and Yolanda Bartlett.
