Charles W "Billy" Parman, 91, died Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Channing, Texas. A memorial service was held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Amistad United Methodist Church, in Amistad, New Mexico. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Homes, in Dalhart. Charles W. "Billy" Parman was born on June 7, 1927 at the Parman Homestead in Union County, New Mexico to Hugh and Leora (Gregston) Parman. Charles was a proud World War II veteran, who served in the Army and was stationed in Korea from July 1945 ~ December 1946. On August 26, 1951 in Amistad, New Mexico he married the love of his life Rena Lou (Ricketson) Parman. They celebrated 63 years of marriage, before her passing in 2014. Charles was a lifelong resident of the Amistad/Nara Visa Community and was a very active member. He was a rancher for many years, as well as, an Amistad school bus driver for 17 years and he served on the Amistad School Board. In 2004, Charles received the "Buck Ramsey Heritage Award". Charles is survived by his son Walter and wife Dinkie Parman of Channing, TX. A daughter, Mary Osborn and husband Dan of Logan, NM. A son-in-law Bill Fields of Guymon, OK. He has 7 grandchildren, Danae Parman of College Station, TX, Justin Osborn and wife Lena of Logan, NM, Todd Osborn and wife Bonnie of Tucumcari, NM, Tanner Osborn and wife Hailee of Edgewood, NM, Amanda Greene and husband Shane of Texline, TX, Rebecca Greene and husband Trevor of Texline, TX, David Fields and wife Devian of Texline, TX, and 7 great-grandchildren. His brother, Hugh Parman and wife Doris of Portales, NM, and 3 sisters, Donnie Earle of Nara Visa, NM, Thelma Earle of Wheatland, WY and Daisy Penrod and husband Jim of Flora Vista, NM. He is preceded in death by spouse, parents, daughter, Rena Faye Fields, 2 brother, Jack and Thomas (Dick) Parman, 3 sisters, Rose McKee, Lenora Jones and Alice Batley-Earle. The family asks that memorials be made in Charless memory to the Amistad United Methodist Church or to The Little House on The Prairie, both use the same address; PO Box 325 Amistad, NM 88410.
