Charles W. Grice, 92, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at his ranch in Dallam County.Funeral Services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Under the care of Horizon Funeral HomeCharles William Grice was born February 5, 1923 at the family place near Guymon, OK to J.R. and Annie (Jones) Grice. Raised near Guymon he married Lula Mae Danner on February 5, 1947 in Liberal, KS. They moved to their place on High Lonesome in 1949. Charles was on the board of the NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) for over 45 years, and the ASC/FSA board. Mr. Grice enjoyed his antique tractors and still has the first tractor he farmed with 1930 Twin City as well as many other antique tractors, cars and airplanes including a rare 1946 Ercoupe. He also had registered quarter horses. Charles enjoyed riding his horses, tractors and cars in parades. He went into the army in the winter of 1943 with 404th Field Artillery Battalion which were attached to the 86th Division Blackhawk. They were with Pattons Third Army in Italy and Germany. Survivors include his wife Lula Mae of Dalhart, TX, daughters Linda Srader and husband Ron, Charleen Burge and husband James of Amarillo, TX, Kay and husband Ron Howell of Dalhart, TX and a son Brad Grice of Dalhart, TX 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.He is preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, 8 sisters, a grandson - Bryan and great- granddaughter Kathleen.
