Charles Douglas Chism, Jr. "Doug" lost his battle with cancer on Monday, September 28, 2020. Dougs family will be hosting a memorial and reception for family and friends to celebrate Dougs life on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in their home. Doug, 51, was born on Saturday, February 01, 1969 to Charles Chism and the late Robbie Mae (Davis) Chism in Crowell, Texas. Dougs family relocated to Dalhart in the summer of 1972 and have called Dalhart home since. Doug graduated from Dalhart High School in 1988 and attended TSTI in Amarillo. Doug was a car and pickup enthusiast. Doug enjoyed everything about cars and pickups from under the hood to making them shine. His pride and joys were his Ford Lightning and his project pickups. Doug also had a Boston Terrier, Sadie, that was his best fur baby(daughter). Doug married the love of his life, Robbie Todd in August of 2009 and with that marriage came an instant family that included, Elizabeth and Richard whom Doug grew to love as his own children. Doug made his lifelong dream come true in the winter of 2015, when he and his wife Robbie, opened their own shop DnR Detail. Doug was so grateful to Robbie and their children for keeping their shop up and running while he was fighting his cancer battle. Doug is survived by his wife of the home, Robbie, his son, Richard of Dalhart, TX, his daughter, Elizabeth of Dumas, TX, his father, Charles Chism, Sr. of Dalhart, TX, two sisters: Terry Renshaw and Sherry Chism both of Dalhart, TX, brothers-in-law; Mike Todd of Dalhart, TX and Gary Todd of Amarillo, TX, niece, Megan Renshaw of Amarillo, TX, nephews: Trevor, Dylan, Gunner, Jagger and Colton Chism all of Dalhart, TX, his Aunt Barbara Webb of Dalhart, TX, as well as, several uncles and cousins.
