Catherene Oleta Stewart,84 Died in Wednesday, November 09, 2005 in Dalhart, Texas.Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11 2005 at the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.Officiating was Rodney Weatherly, Pastor, of the First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas Catherene, known to everyone as Kitty was born December 6, 1920 in Estelline, Texas to Robert Franklin and Mary Ellen Lott Bownds. The family moved to Hartley, Texas for several years and then to Dalhart, Texas where Catherene started first grade. They moved to Texline, Texas where she completed her junior and senior years of high school.Catherene married Clifford E. Delano in 1939 in Clayton, New Mexico. He was employed by his Uncle Dan Allender at the Allenders Furniture on Denrock in Dalhart until 1959 when they began their own business in air conditioning and home appliance sales and service. Catherene was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church for all of those years and was a Sunday school teacher in the Nursery and beginner Departments. She was a Brownie Scout leader and also a Cub Scout leader. Clifford passed away in 1966. She was employed a the Gibsons store in Dalhart for 3 years, until she married Orval R. Stewart n 1969. They lived in Pennsylvania, in Dallas, Texas and Denver, Colorado before buying a home and settling in Wichita, Kansas. The Stewarts moved to Dalhart in 1999 to be near their children, because of her failing health. Catherene was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frank and Mary Bownds: Husband, Clifford E. Delano and sister, Jewel Ellen Bounds NelsonShe is survived by her Husband: Orval R. Stewart of the home Son: Jerry Clifford Delano and his wife Sandra of Dalhart, Texas Daughters: Peggy Jo Dane and her husband Clifford of Dalhart, Texas and Linda Darlene Morgan of Amarillo, TX Brother: Franklin Austin Bownds and his wife Viola of Amarillo, TX 6 Grandchildren 5 Step-grandchildren -- 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Charity of choice.
