Lindon Carroll LaFever, Age 55, Died Sunday, September 27, 2009 in Canyon, TX at the Canyon Healthcare Nursing Home. Services were held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Dalhart, TX . Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Carroll was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 11, 1954, but was a lifelong resident of Dalhart and considered it home. Carroll loved wrestling, music, family and God. Carroll had a great sense humor but was serious when he needed to be. Although he had no children of his own, he was a father figure to many. For most of his years, he was a scrap metal recycler and could usually be found eating barbeque ribs or winning a board game.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Faye LaFever, two brothers, Kenneth LaFever and Roy LaFever, and one sister, Debbie Moody. Survived by three sisters: Dorothy Clayton of Canyon, Shirley Woodruff of Sunray, and Sandra Thaxton of Dalhart, as well as two brother-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished Carroll and knew him as a mentor. Family will receive guests at First Christian Church fellowship hall between 1 and 2 p.m.
