Dateline Dalhart, TXCarrie Martin, 88, died Monday, April 6, 2015 in Keller, TX Funeral Services were held at Peoples Church in Dalhart at 2:00 pm. on Friday, April 10, 2015 burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home. Officiating was Jerry Smyrl, Pastor Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church- Albuquerque, NMCarrie Mae Thompson was born April 18, 1926 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Burns Dudley Thompson and Winnie Arlee Hatfield Thompson. Carrie grew up in Oklahoma and came to the Texas Panhandle in the late 40s. Carrie was a loving Mother and grandmother whose devotion and sacrifice was known and appreciated by her family and friends. Carrie was a member of the Peoples Church and enjoyed puzzles, gardening and family.She is survived by her children: Gary Allen Hammit and his wife Deborah of Fritch, TX, Charlene Smyrl and her husband Gary of Keller, TX, and Walter Ducky Hammit and his wife Vicki of Dumas, TX 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren as well as her brothers Donald and his wife Connie Thompson of Virginia, Jimmy Thompson of Oklahoma and Kenny & wife Wanda Thompson of Oklahoma.
