Carolyn Scherer Morgan, 39, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Dalhart, Texas. Services were held on Wednesday, January 29 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Dalhart.Carolyn's Video - http://videos.lifetributes.com/461294 Carolyn Scherer Morgan was born January 15, 1975 in Normal, Illinois. She moved with her family to Dalhart in 1981. Carolyn graduated from Dalhart High School in 1993 where she completed honors classes, was a member of the National Honors Society and pursued an interest in meteorology even working with professional meteorologists at an Amarillo news station. After high school, she attended Panhandle State and WTSU where she studied criminal psychology. Carolyn worked for Willard Grain and Whitehurst Steel Erectors. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, studying history and spending time in the great outdoors. Through her life she always dreamed of working with tigers and other big cats. Her caring heart and artistic flare were evident in everything from the music she played and wrote, the crafts and art she designed, to her love for animals (especially her kittens she rescued.) She was preceded in death by: her brother John William; her grandparents Dorothy and Charles Stowe, Emma and Lee Scherer; great-grandparents Rose and Charlie Jackson; uncles Ray, Elmer and Mel Beer; and aunts Esther Clow and Naomi Gross. Survivors include: her mother and step-father Rebecca and James Saunders of Dalhart, TX; father Robert Scherer of Roanoke, IL; sister Kathryn Scherer-Berg and her husband Jade of Dalhart, TX; brothers Jonathan Scherer of Dalhart, TX and Arthur Saunders of Albuquerque, NM; step brothers - David Scherer and his wife Mary Lee, and Mark Scherer and his wife Tammy; step sister Jean Ann Hindrichsen and her husband Ron; grandparents Jan and Dave Saunders; uncle John Saunders; as well as two nephews Xander Berg and Samson Saunders, and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your favorite cause.
