Carol R. Spann, 84, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Amarillo, TX. A graveside service was held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:00 am, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Carol Ruth Hester was born and raised on a farm south of ODonnell, Texas. Her parents were Ernest and Mary (Rogers) Hester. Carol was the youngest of 14 children. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1951 and on March 11, 1954 she married Raymond Spann, he died on May 1, 2000. A Godly woman; Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart, she loved her family with a passion, and was the best grandma anyone could ask for! Carol devoted the last 20 years of her life to her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Dunn of Marble Falls, TX, a granddaughter, Nikki McDaniel of Amarillo, TX, a grandson, Brent McDaniel and his wife Lacy of Fort Worth, TX and two great granddaughters, Adalia McDaniel of Fort Worth, TX and Azlynn McDaniel of Amarillo, TX.
