Carl Koger, 88, died on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Dalhart, TX Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church.Mass was held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 29, 2008 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX With Father Scot L. Raef officiant - Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home Dalhart, Texas. Carl Raymond Koger was born October 30, 1919 in Amistad, New Mexico to Joseph and Ila (Vernon) Koger. Raised in the Amistad - Nara Visa area. Carl graduated from Nara Visa, New Mexico schools and then attended Eastern New Mexico University before joining the U.S. Navy during WWII. On December 31, 1947 he married Theresa Catherine Locke in Sabetha, KS. He ranched in the Amistad - Nara Visa area all his life. He enjoyed and protected wildlife and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hayden, NM.Survivors include his wife Theresa of Dalhart, TX a daughter Emily Kay Koger of Clovis, NM a sister Fern Zimmerman of Clayton, NM and a granddaughter Chandra Koger of Ft. Worth, TX and special friends The Bolz family.
