Carl French, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2024. Born in Texline, Texas on March 18, 1934, to Bessie Wallace and John French, Carl's journey commenced with humble beginnings. His early years were marked by a move to the Coldwater Community north of Dalhart, TX, where he planted deep roots and cultivated a life rich in service, love, and faith.

A true Texan at heart, Carl's early education led him to the bustling halls of Felt, OK, where he not only traversed the path to academic accomplishment but also honed the values of hard work and integrity. His diploma, earned with pride in 1953, marked the conduits of knowledge and wisdom he would later impart within his community.

In the golden summer of 1953, Carl's heart joined with Colleen McMenanamy's in a beautiful testament to enduring love. Their harmonious marriage bloomed over seven decades, during which they built a steadfast home and lovingly raised a daughter and a son. Exemplifying the essence of a family man, Carl worked tirelessly as a farmer, his hands shaping the earth and his efforts ensuring a prosperous life for his family.

Carl's spirit of service extended beyond the fields to the very foundations of his community. A long-time pillar of the First Baptist Church of Texline. Carl served as a deacon, a teacher of Sunday School, a shepherd to the youth, and a steward in Awanas. His steady hand guided many to brighter futures.

Beyond the church's walls, Carl's tireless dedication saw him contributing to the betterment of society through numerous roles, including positions on the school board, the Underground Water District Board District 1, the Texline Equalization Board, as a County Commissioner for Precinct 4, and in the Honored Capacity as a Past Master and a Thirty-Second Degree Mason.

The legacy Carl French leaves behind is richly woven with the lives of his beloved survivors: wife, Colleen; daughter, Sue and her husband Mike; son, Floyd and his wife Marcia; adoring grandchildren, Jessica Kemp with her husband Steven, Aaron Potter, Andra French, and Brandi Cook with her husband Brett; and precious great-grandchildren, Grant, Lilly, Zoey, Stratton, Prezlee, Branston, Bennette, and Bowen. His was a lineage nurtured with love, laughter, and spiritual guidance.

While Carl's life formed us with countless lessons, the most impactful was his sincere commitment to his faith. His decision to accept Jesus as his savior at the age of thirteen was the cornerstone of a life lived with purpose. Carl embodied traits that many aspire to—his faith-filled soul, his handy and spirited nature forged an unforgettable presence in the hearts of those he touched.
