Carl Cumming, 77, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Lubbock, TexasA Life Celebration was held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 19, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church. Steve Patterson, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church officiated.Carl Martin Cumming was born October 7, 1936 in Dalhart, Texas to Chester Thompson and Mary Ida (Martin) Cumming. He was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1955. Carl married Joan Chennault on June 26, 1957 in Dalhart. Mr. Cumming began building and contracting with his father and continued in that profession his entire life. He was a member of the carpenters union and served as financial secretary of the local board as well as serving on the Dalhart Board of Realtors. Carl was a longtime supporter of the Dalhart Golden Wolves and enjoyed motorcycles and having coffee with friends. Survivors include his wife Joan Cumming of Dalhart, TX - a daughter Denise and her husband Walter Webb of Amarillo, TX - 2 grandsons: Casey and his wife Trichelle Webb of Amarillo, TX and Brian and his wife Kathryn Webb of New York, NY and 2 great-grandchildren: Parker and Max Webb of Amarillo, TXCarl is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.Memorials may be made to the:Loretta on the Plains ~ Box 104 ~ Hartley, Texas 79044
