C. L. Jones Jr.,80 died on Friday, August 10, 2007 in Dalhart, Texas.Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, the First Baptist Church with Rodney Weatherly, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Jones was born May 3, 1927 in Hemphill County, Texas to C. L. and Beatrice McCoy Jones. He was raised in Childress, TX until he moved to Dalhart on July 4, 1945 at the age of 18 years. It was in 1957 when he began work of Motor Parts Co. that he found what would be a lifetime career in the auto parts business. After many years of working for others in that field he began operation of Jones Auto Parts until his retirement.He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart where he enjoyed his participation the choir. He was a member o the Dalhart Rotary Club and the Rock Island Masonic Lodge. He served the Community in many ways as a volunteer. He participated in the renovation of the LaRita Theatre in Dalhart and was a cast member in several productions of the Dalhart Community Theatre. He enjoyed serving the community and was blessed to have many friends who knew his as Jonesy.Survivors are daughters: Kathy Ledbetter, of Amarillo, TX Pam Jones of Dalhart, TX Darla Ivey of Las Vegas, NV and a son Dean Bingham of Kilgore, TX Fourteen grandchildren - Twelve Great-grandchildren - - Sisters: Jewel Burns of Stinnett, TX and Cecelia Harwell of Abilene, TX He was preceded in death by his wife Gennie, daughter Renetta Mireles, his parents, brothers Elmo and Bobby and sisters Pearl Middleton and Mary Frances Anderson Memorials to Coon Memorial Hospice 320 Texas Blvd, Dalhart, Texas 79022
