Richard Bud Hefley, 80, died Wednesday, May 01, 2013 in Dalhart, TX Services were held at 2:00 pm (CDT) on Friday, May 3rd, 2013 at the Texline United Methodist Church, Texline, Texas. Burial followed in the Texline Cemetery.Richard Franklin Hefley was born February 18, 1933 in Clayton, NM to Robert and Maggie (Abney) Hefley. Bud graduated from Clayton High School in 1951 and served in the US Army before returning to the Texline area in the mid 50s. On June 7th 1959 he married Kathryn Kay Glenn in Texline, TX. He ranched his entire life and was a member of the Texline United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Kay Hefley of Texline, TX , 2 daughters: Gay and her husband Gerald Wilhelm of Dalhart, TX, and Joy and her husband Alan Ritchie of Lubbock, TX, a son Robert and wife Lewetta Hefley of Texline, TX. Grandchildren Brent and Lynnsey Wilhelm of Grapevine, TX Lori and Judd Steger of Pilot point, TX, Jayme and Shawn Blanton of Denton, TX - Marie Hefley of Lubbock, TX, Glenn Hefley and fianc Kimberly Melton of Texline TX Morgan Hefley of Texline, TX Jordan Ritchie And fiance Jerrod Ellison of Lubbock, TX and Garrison Ritchie of Lubbock, TX and 2 great-grandchildren Knox Steger and Nolan Blanton . A sister Sue Parsons of Amarillo, TX and a brothers - in- law Don Wood of Tucson, AZ, George Glenn of Roggen, CO, John Glenn and wife Jo of Ft, Morgan, CO, Sister in- law Sally Glenn of Aspen, CO.Preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister Bobbye Wood.Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
