Bruce Raymond Johnson, 55, died Friday, February 16, 2018 in Dalhart, TX. ~Minonk, IL ~ Memorial service for his Illinois family and friends, will be held at Minonk Baptist Church, Minonk, IL on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM with visitation at 11:00 AM before the memorial service.Dalhart, TX ~ Visitation was held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 24, 2018 prior to the Memorial Service at the Nazarene Church.Memorial services did follow at at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Church of The Nazarene. Officiating will be by Rev. Marvin Pepper, a close friend and formally from Dalhart.Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home.Bruce "Brucey" Raymond Johnson was born on Friday, August 17, 1962 in Woodstock, IL to Bernard Eugene & Nancy Annabelle Johnson (Gazelle). Bruce was a Texan through and through. He was a person who would go out of his way to help his friends. He treasured his nieces and nephews. He liked to come across as a rough and tough guy, who hated having his picture taken, but, he had a soft spot inside. He touched many people around him, with gestures of kindness. He enjoyed farming, the XIT rodeo, BBQ and pulling tractors. We will miss his countless stories and strong opinions. He spent the last three years fighting heart and kidney disease and diabetes, and now has received his healing in heaven. Bruce is survived by his mother Nancy (Carlton) Gazelle of Winamac, IN and 3 brothers: Brian and his wife Cathy Johnson of Winamac, IN, Martin and his wife Gayellen Johnson of Bixby, OK, and Rodney and his wife Marce Johnson of Frisco, TX and 5 nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his father Bernard E. Johnson.
