Brandy Calvert Rahi, 40, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Gallup, NM from complications from COVID-19. A memorial service will be held at Northside Church of the Nazarene at 6750 Denton Hwy, Watauga, TX 76148, on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Brandy was born to Rick and Julie (Langley) Calvert in Austin, Texas on Thursday, October 23, 1980. Brandy loved being a nurse. She earned her LVN license before graduating high school in 1999. She graduated New Mexico State University with a BSN in 2004. Her passion was Geriatrics. Brandy had a love for her family that was so fierce as well as for anyone she came into contact with. She was a true giver who got great joy out of giving to anyone who was willing to receive. Brandy loved helping people. She contracted COVID-19 in July while working for Genesis Healthcare in Albuquerque, NM. She was in intensive care for 2-weeks and home for another 3 months before going back to work with restrictions. The doctor advised her not to return to work, but she said she was a nurse and people were in need. She fought the good fight to be a part of her loved ones on earth but received her true blessing when she was called home to meet her Lord. She is in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. Brandy is survived by her two daughters: Elyssa Hutchison (19) and Isabella Rahi (12) of Connecticut, parents: Rick and Julie Calvert of Dalhart, TX, sisters: Wendy Calvert and Christal (Calvert) Stoddard of Ft.
