Bobbie Joe Boring, 82, of Dalhart, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.
Bob was born Friday, February 24, 1939 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Thelma (Cobb) and Joseph Boring.
Bob proudly served 21 years in the United States Air Force. Serving in such places as Vietnam, Alaska, Missouri, Virginia, Okinawa, Texas and Greece. He retired as a Technical Sergeant in 1977. He enjoyed playing poker, bowling and watching NFL football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He played the piano as well as the drums and did so in many bands for many years. He was proud to be a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles.
His family was the joy of his life and he will be missed by all who knew him and had the privilege of calling him friend.
Bob is survived by three daughters: Darlena Payne and husband Chip of Pueblo, CO, Judy Henderson and husband Bryan of Pampa, TX, and Cindy McMurry and husband Kelly of Dalhart, TX, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one very special friend, Terry Curtis of Hughes Springs, TX.
Bob is preceded in death by three infant sons, his father, mother, stepfather and his loving wife of 25 years, Bonnie Darlene (Drake) Boring in 1982.
