Billye Joyce Hart, 88, of Stratford went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2018. Memorial services were at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Stratford. Family burial was at 10:00 am. Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home and services conducted by Pastor Ron Whitt. Billye Joyce Hart was born on March 22, 1930 to Reuben and Velma Baskin in Denton, Texas. Joyce lived in Krum, Texas before moving to Sherman County at the age of six. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1948 and then attended Colorado Womens College. Joyce married the love of her life, William Glenn Hart, on June 16, 1949 and enjoyed 69 wonderful years together. Joyce was an active member of her community. She opened her home for bible studies and volunteered at the Stratford Museum. She was also a licensed pilot and loved flying, writing letters to loved ones, painting, and sewing. Over the course of their marriage, Joyce enjoyed accompanying William Glenn on his various work ventures, so much so that they made the decision to move to Brazil for a construction project. Joyce loved the people that she met in Brazil and continued to keep in touch with them even after moving back home in 2005. Joyce was devoted to her Christian faith and placed God first in her life. She was a spiritual role model for her family, and was a patient and loving wife, mother, and Mamoo. Joyce is proceeded in death by her parents, Reuben and Velma Baskin, and granddaughter, Samantha Hart. She is survived by her husband, William Glenn Hart, three sons, Jeff Hart of Amarillo, Jon Hart and wife Cindy of Stratford, Joel Hart and wife Sheryl of Amarillo, daughter Honey Hart and husband Mike Foust of Amarillo, and her sister Carol and husband Ken Campbell of San Angelo. 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with other adoptive family members. The family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Stratford.
