Services for Billy Sustaita will be held Tuesday April 2, 2024, at 11:00 New Life Church with Pastor Terry Stegall. Billy Sustaita, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, in Dalhart, Texas, at the age of 63. Born on July 22, 1960, in Rose Bud, Texas, Billy's life was a testament to the love and laughter he shared with all who knew him.

Billy's early years in Rose Bud were filled with the bustling energy of a large family. He was born to the late Joe Sustaita and Stella Hernandez and grew up alongside his brothers Jim, Pete, Joe, David, and his sisters Janie, Joshaphine, Stella, and his twin Lilly, who all preceded him in death. He was a beacon of joy and mischief, traits that would define him throughout his life.

In 1983, Billy moved to Dalhart, where he began a long and dedicated career with JBS. His colleagues knew him as a man who could always be counted on, both for his skill and his ever-present humor. Billy's work ethic was matched only by his commitment to his family and community.

Billy's heart was fullest when surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his children, Lilly Sustaita, Talesha Sustaita, and Trevor Sustaita and his wife Makenzy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Faybien Fuentes, Elyssa Lucero, Alex Lucero, and Avion Sustaita, as well as his great-grandchild, Mariana Fuentes (MJ). He also leaves behind his ex-wife, Kim Stone, and his siblings, Ricky Sustaita and Leona Sustaita. His loyal dog, Reno, was a constant companion on many adventures and will miss their shared road trips.

Billy's zest for life was evident in his many interests. He was an avid traveler, often hitting the road with Reno by his side, exploring new places and making memories. At home, he was the master of the kitchen, known for his culinary creations and the joy he took in cooking for others. His laughter was a frequent sound during family TV nights, and his love for yard work and house projects kept his hands busy and his spirit content. Billy's love for sharing ice cream with his grandchildren was a sweet tradition that will be fondly remembered.

Those who knew Billy will recall a man who was loving, handy, and funny. His ability to light up a room with his humor and warmth was unparalleled. He was the kind of person who could fix anything, tell a joke that would make you laugh until you cried, and offer a hug that felt like home.

Billy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the occasional dollop of ice cream. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those he loved. As we say goodbye to Billy Sustaita, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of his family and friends.
