Bill Williams, 81, died Friday, April 9, 2010 in Dalhart, TXMemorial Services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas.Bill E. Williams was born February 24, 1929 in Stevens, Texas. He went to work at the Beaver Express at the age of 16. He then went to work for the Rock Island Railroad, Cotton Belt, retiring from the Southern Pacific in 1990 after 43 years of service, less the two years he served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.Quoting Joe Lee, his brother, Bill was the sort of brother that would give you the shirt off of his back if it would help you. He was the sort of brother that goes the extra 500 miles if you needed assistance and would take the last dollar out of his bank account and send it to you if you were in dire straits. He had a kind heart.Bill is survived by his loving wife, Petra F Williams, daughters, Beverly (Johnny) Cobb of Amarillo, TX, and Vicky Keller of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by his step-daughters, Grace Casados of Dalhart, TX and Diane (Eddie) Perez of Newalla, OK, and step-sons, Sammy (Yolanda) Casados of Dalhart, TX, Charles Casados of Honolulu, HI, and Arthur Jacobs of Oklahoma City, OK. Surviving also are his sisters, Margaret Harbert of Dumas, TX and Jean Williams of Dalhart, TX and his brothers, Joe Lee (Darlene) Williams, Jr. of Kingman, AZ, and Bobby Neal (Brenda) Williams of St. Cloud, FL. He will be missed by his six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee and Lonie Belle Williams, his brother Glenn McAlister and daughter Tracie Carel.The family would like to thank Brother Rusty Hancock, Glendon Pyle, Debbie Black, Robin Lower and all the nurses at Hospice as well as Dr. V. Also a very special thanks to Chief Larry Hinds and the Hooker Police Dept. & Yvonne Mathis, Postmaster, Hooker, OK for all their help as well as Sammy Casados and Grace Casados for always being there any time day of night.
