Cran (Bill) William Bevans Sr. age 74,died Thursday, December 08, 2005 at his home in Dalhart, Texas.Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, burial was in Dalhart Memorial Park Cemetery.Officiants were Rusty Hancock, Pastor of the Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, TX & Bob McAlister, Pastor First Baptist Church Channing, TX Cran William Bevans Sr. was born on March 9, 1931 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Charlie Z. and Viola C. (Ellington) Bevans. He received his education in Oklahoma and served during the Korean Conflict. Bill was attached to the Atomic Energy Commission From 1950 to 1953. Mr. Bevans was a custom farmer, fertilizer and chemical applicator and owned his own business for over 25yrs. A longtime member of the Lincoln Street Baptist Church he married Vinita Louise Johnson on October 5, 1956 in Clayton, NM. Dad loved the guitar and could hear a song and play it instantly never needing sheet music. He loved fishing and was one of the best story tellers ever born. Bill enjoyed camping with his wife and grandkids and was at this best when all his family was around. Mr. Bevans taught his kids about Jesus their entire lives and was often heard to comment about the great reunion in heaven when he died. His family reminds everyone Dad is safe in the arms of Jesus now!
